Greetings, my fellow Ramblers, Alumni of Loyola, parents, and readers of our paper. My name is Marco A. Useche and I serve as the Chief Editor and President of Operations for the Rambler Review, as well as a co-founder of this project. Our goal as a paper is to welcome debate of different views, perspectives, and opinions.
College campuses over the past few years have decreased their emphasis on intellectual and ideological diversity. No longer, do we have civil political debates anymore, nor the exchange of ideas freely without any repercussions. In classrooms, academia has contributed to shutting down debates. Loyola University Chicago has been no exemption to the average common trend among universities.
With the foundation of this paper, our goal is to promote different perspectives to the student body; they would never hear from a traditional school paper, classrooms, or some ideas they never listened to in their lives. While some might agree with our perspectives, some will not. Our goal is to promote and encourage the exchange of ideas; therefore I want to welcome you to the Rambler Review.
I would also like to thank my executive board staff and writers who have joined us to launch our paper.
“ If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like the sheep to the slaughter.” ~ George Washington.
God Bless,
Marco A. Useche
